                ShotGard® Bullet Resistant Fiberglass Armor

 

General   North American Bullet Proof manufactures ShotGard®
bullet resistant fiberglass armor. ShotGard® is a multiple ply
ballistic fiberglass laminate produced from ballistic fiberglass
impregnated with a thermo set polyester resin binder.  The
multi-ply configuration provides a delaminating effect when
ballistically attacked.  Bullets are therefore imbedded within its
plies rather than ricocheted like steel or aluminum armor.
ShotGard® is a fraction of the weight of steel armor for identical
performance levels.  It can be cut, drilled and worked using
conventional carpentry tools.  No reinforcing of traditional stud
wall construction is needed.  Attachment to new walls can be
 accomplished by bonding with a construction adhesive. 
This bonding application can also be used in under counter retrofit applications.  ShotGard® is
compatible with contact or construction adhesives which makes ShotGard® ideal to incorporate in
wood door and millwork panels.   

Applications  Typical uses of ShotGard® are government complexes, judges benches, doors,
CIT vehicles, corporate entries, CEO offices, convenience stores, petroleum retailers, police
station dispatch areas, cash rooms, hospitals and pharmacies.  Virtually any area where
lightweight non-ricocheting ballistic protection is required.

Availability  ShotGard® is manufactured in 4'x8'and 3'x8' sheets
in all performance levels.  A cut to size service is also offered.
ShotGard® is usually available from stock for immediate shipping.

Installation, Cutting and Drilling  ShotGard® can be cut or drilled
using a conventional circular saw, sabre saw and/or drill motor.
Circular saw cutting requires a carbide abrasive disc blade.  This
blade is available from North American Bullet Proof. Sabre saw
notching requires the same abrasive carbide edge. Drilling can be accomplished using a high
speed twist drill bit. Complete installation instructions on ShotGard® bullet resistant fiberglass
 can be obtained direct from our factory.

                                                                                 

 ShotGard® Fiberglass Armor is used in a variety  of applications as
 shown in the picture. We can provide one of our standard   products,
 or can custom design an application of our Fiberglass Armor that will
 work with your existing facility.
